Conducting keyword searches of famed monuments in photo sharing web sites, Swiss artist Corinne Vionnet culled thousands of tourists’ snapshots for her series: the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Statue of Liberty, and many more. Weaving together numerous photographic perspectives and experiences, the artist builds her own impressionistic interpretations ethereal structures which float gently in a dream-like haze of blue sky.
Corinne Vionnet’s work has been exhibited at the Chelsea Art Museum, New York; Les Rencontres d’Arles, France; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver; FotoMuseum, Antwerp; and Photo Center NW, Seattle.

Corinne Vionnet is an artist based in Switzerland. At the core of her artistic practice are topographical themes such as the social interaction between nature and humanity.
Her work has been exhibited at the Chelsea Art Museum, New York; Les Rencontres d’Arles, France; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver; FotoMuseum, Antwerp; Photo Center NW, Seattle; and the Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts, Lausanne. It has also featured in numerous publications, including PDN, British Journal of Photography, Yvi, spot magazine and the Humble Arts Foundation’s The Collector’s Guide to New Art Photography.
In 2010, she was selected as one of Photolucida’s Critical Mass top 50 photographers. She took second place in the 2008 Culturas Languages; Zeros and Ones in Madrid, and received an honorable mention from the Santa Fe Center for Photography in the Singular Image” category. She is a member of NEAR, the Swiss association for contemporary photography.Vionnet is represented by the Empty Quarter gallery, Dubai, and In Situ Galerie, Switzerland.
Madeline Yale is a photography specialist based in Dubai and London.
She has curated over 30 exhibitions on photography and related media in the
UAE, the UK, and the USA. Madeline serves as a consultant photography specialist
in the auction market and is a guest lecturer on the MA Photography course at
Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London. She is advisory board member for the Houston
Center for Photography, an organization to which she served as executive director and curator from 2006-2010. She contributes to several publications on art and photography, including Contemporary Practices, Art Dubai Journal and spot magazine. She holds an MA in Photographic Studies and is a PhD candidate at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London.

Oblong format paperback in color pictorial dust jacket. Tightly bound in gray card stock covers with titles in pale gray and block. The color photo dust jacket appears to fold out into a poster image, but was engineered without flaps and possibly applied with glue at the spine by the binder. Naturally, a fust jacket without flaps is going to want to slide off the book when place on the shelf, as there is no anchor at the front edge. This has been the case here as the jacket is a little stressed and worn from sliding off the book.
