John Baldessari, geb. 1931, studierte er an der University of California in Berkeley und Los Angeles, am San Diego State College, Kalifornien und am Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles. Mit seinen Fototext- oder Fotocollage-Arbeiten sowie mit seinen spateren Videos gilt John Baldessari als einer der einflussreichsten Kunstler seit den spaten 1960er Jahren. Liam Gillick, geb. 1964, studierte am Goldsmiths College, University of London. Liam Gillick arbeitet mit Architektur, Installationen, Design und Texten. 2002 wurde er fur den Turner Preis nominiert. Lawrence Weiner, geb. 1942. Mit seiner konzisen und poetischen Verwendung von Sprache und der Betonung der materiellen Dimension von Kunst gehort der Amerikaner zu den wichtigsten Konzeptkunstlern. Lawrence Weiner arbeitet haufig im offentlichen Raum und er hat eine Vielzahl von Kunstlerbuchern und Filmen produziert.
