The book includes a forward by Benoit Mandelbrot and articles by Gert Eilenberger, Herbert Franke as well as those by Peitgen and Richter. The articles include "The Discovery of the Mandelbrot Set" by Mandelbrot, "On Science, Technology and Art" by Eilenberger and Franke, "Scientific Background of the Pictures" by Peitgen and Richter, and a "Do It Yourself" section where the reader is encouraged and guided through the creation of several fractals. The text is provided in both German and English.
