Three painters born in the early 1970s, Tilo Baumgärtel, David Schnell, and Matthias Weischer (all of whom studied in the 90s at Neo Rauch's alma mater, the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts), bring together new work that grapples with spatial representation: Schnell's landscapes have multiple vanishing points; Baumgärtel's surreal urban spaces tell unpeopled narrative; and Weischer's deserted rooms exist in both two and three dimensions.
