A stunning collection of real, heartbreaking, yet hopeful stories written by a community of bereaved parents who courageously share their first year of grief.– Carly Marie Dudley, Project Heal
The death of a baby, whether through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal loss, or the death of an older child, is the worst experience a parent can endure.
Parents often don't know how – or if – they will survive such an earth-shattering event. Just as each individual’s grief journey is different, so is each parent’s experience.
This book includes twenty-six heart-wrenchingly honest essays by parents who convey their personal challenges and the ways they coped during the first twelve months after losing their children.
This book shows you how to:
This book also helps friends and family understand a grieving parent's struggle and how best to provide support.
Let this book be your companion on your grief journey or as you support the bereaved.

My professional background is as a relationship coach and grief recovery expert. I love to help people find inspiration for healthy grieving and healing through my role as a Transformational Coach and Counsellor. My passion is to write and rethink human behaviour and emotion.
As a bereaved mother myself, I believe supportive relationships – intimate and with other support people – are the foundation for a healthy grieving experience. As part of the vision for support and a better understanding of the grieving process – especially for bereaved parents – I’ve created the Grieving Parents Support Network. I hope bereaved parents will find the community and support they need through that network. Our regular not-for-profit projects encourage healthy grieving and healing.

Joy Borstein, Bennet’s mama
“This book provides the recognition that there is no one-size-fits-all and no set timeline for healing”.
April Gregoryk, Ethan’s mama
“A collection of heartfelt stories from loss parents that gives an authentic look into the trials and triumphs of the first year. It is at times tender, at times raw and at times humorous with one resounding message: you are not alone”.
Emily Wetherholt, Wyatt’s mama
“So many stories, all different, but somehow all the same”.
Jan Smith, Ben and Zach’s mama
“I am not new to grief; however, this book has been amazing for me. It has helped things come to light that I didn’t realize were lingering and holding me back, has allowed me to understand so much more about healing and has given me hope”.
Laurel Taylor, Brianna’s mama
“A book about grief, but more so a book about love”.
Karen Prisco, Elizabetta’s mama
“I have searched for a book that would get me, that I could relate to. I have read many, but this one is the one I was searching for all along”.
Tina Sunajko, Tapio’s mama
“I’m just loving this book. The grief of child loss is such a lonely journey and this book makes it less so. It’s good to know other people ‘get it’”.
Jacqui Hellyer, Leylynne’s mama
“A wonderful resource for parents and families of those who have lost a child. It is relevant to the loss of a baby or child from any point in pregnancy right up through adulthood”.
Saskia Williams, Eloise’s mama
“I have a feeling this is a book that I will be keeping within close reach, earmarking pages and going back to when I’m having ‘one of those days’ and I need a reminder that I’m truly not alone”.
Katie Stern, Toby’s mama
