Synopsis
With the arrival of Sun's Java Foundation Classes (JFC), developers can write Java applications that behave just like "native"-style applications, such as those written in Windows. Core Java Foundation Classes shows you how you can take advantage of the new JFC Swing classes to create Java applications with all the advanced features that today's users expect. After a tour of the JFC/Swing packages, the author jumps right into building basic Swing applications, focusing on layout managers (which control the arrangement of JFC components onscreen) and basic graphics programming.
