Synopsis
Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) is a poet and prose writer of great talent. He was born in Bombay in the family of an Englishman, director of an art school, and spent his childhood in India. The inexhaustible wealth of pictorial means, the precise and bold language, the vivid imagination, the sharp observation, the vast, versatile knowledge - all these remarkable properties, combined together, made Kipling a writer belonging to all mankind. And the famous cycle "Mowgli" introduced him into the classics of children's literature and in the writer of the animalist, recognized by world literature. Despite the fact that the animals he thinks, talk and make quite conscious actions, they do not at all resemble fable animals. Four-legged and reptilian heroes act in a natural setting, each of them is endowed with species-specific zoological features and individual properties.
