About the Author
Eduardo Calixto González nació en la Ciudad de México en 1969, es médico cirujano y doctor en Neurociencias por la UNAM, realizó su posdoctorado en Fisiología Cerebral en la Universidad de Pittsburgh, Estados Unidos.
Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores del CONACyT, investigador y jefe del Departamento de Neurobiología del Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatría "Ramón de la Fuente", de la Secretaría de Salud, además de docente de las Facultades de Medicina y Psicología de la UNAM y miembro activo de la Society for Neuroscience y de la Sociedad Mexicana de Ciencias Fisiológicas.
Estudia los procesos neuronales (electrofisiológicos y sinápticos) que explican las adicciones a diversas drogas y la modulación conductual sexual por diferentes hormonas y neurotransmisores, así como la recuperación funcional neuronal en el cerebro ante daños cerebrales por traumatismos o cambios metabólicos. Es autor de 22 publicaciones científicas en revistas internacionales especializadas en Neurociencias y del libro Neurotuits.
