About the Author

Aurelio Baldor was born on October 22, 1906 in Havana, Cuba. He was a remarkable educator and devoted his life to his passion: mathematics.In his native land he founded the Baldor School, where he was director during the 1940s and 1950s. In 1960 and after the establishment of the government of Fidel Castro he traveled with his family to Mexico and later emigrated to the United States, where he lived in New Orleans and later settled in New York, where he taught math. Finally he moved to Miami, where he died on April 3, 1978.
