Synopsis
No Brasil, especificamente no Vale de Jequitinhonha, por causa da sua topografia e a crescente ocupação urbana de áreas acidentadas é comum a construção de estruturas de contenção com a finalidade de garantir a estabilidade das encostas e a segurança dos projetos. A construção de estruturas de contenção são obras que frequentemente se apresentam ao engenheiro civil. Foi apontado o uso dos blocos de concreto armado em muros de arrimo de alvenaria estrutural, afim de descrever a maneira adequada de calcular e executar uma estrutura eficiente de contenção de solo; portanto demostrada a maneira apropriada de calcular este tipo de contenção; selecionado um modelo para dimensionamento de muros de arrimo em alvenaria estrutural, assim sendo dimensionado e detalhado. A contenção de solo com blocos de concreto armado foi dimensionada com embasamento teórico dos livros dos autores Moliterno (2016) e Marchertti (2015) juntamente com auxílio dos softwares Excel e Ftool, para seu detalhamento foram utilizados o AutoCAD 2017 e o GEO5 2018. Por segurança, o muro a ser dimensionado em bloco de concreto armado não deve ter altura superior a três metros.
