Biodeisel Plant: The shrub 'Jatropha curcas' has tremendous opportunities. The whole research work of this book may be divided into two parts. In first half book contains different aspects of the research on plant physiology, plant growth, yield and fatty acids composition of 15 genotypes of J. curcas. The important physiological traits are taken for study eg. photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, intercellular leaf carbon dioxide concentrations, water use efficiency, chlorophyll and carotenoids. Different biometrical techniques have been included to assessment of variability, correlation among traits, path analysis, principal component analysis and cluster analysis. The study shows that how the physiological traits are correlated with morphological traits and how the morphological traits are affect the other characters like seed characters, oil traits and productivity of J. curcas. The book contains extraction methods for chlorophyll, carotenoids from leaf and oil from seeds. In the second half the book contains the study of hybridization among choice of parents, breeding procedure and confirmation of hybrids based on simple sequence repeats (SSR).
