O mundo moderno da electrónica procura tantas soluções sobre e controlar os parâmetros físicos das centrais eléctricas. A digitalização de tal sistema de monitorização e controlo será muito útil enquanto se extraem dados para relatórios de serviço ou manutenção. O controlo da temperatura é um desses sistemas através do qual a temperatura da caldeira pode ser controlada e monitorizada utilizando o software de simulação Lab VIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Workbench). O sistema convencional utiliza um valor que abre e fecha a intervalos periódicos para manter a temperatura. As desvantagens de empregar mais sobre dar uso a uma técnica que utilizava um PLC para controlo. Este método também não foi bem sucedido devido ao seu custo de implementação superior. Neste trabalho o Lab VIEW é utilizado como ferramenta de controlo para manter a temperatura da caldeira como um valor constante ao longo de todo o processo. Este processo provou ser um método de controlo eficiente e de baixo custo.
