The early emergence and fast growth of the weeds lead to severe crop-weed competition for light, moisture, nutrients and space, which culminates in heavy reduction in growth and yield of chickpea and lessens the profitability. Yet herbicides application is only the option to reduce the flushes of weeds during crop growth period. However, the herbicides absorption and their translocation are also depends on moisture availability in the soil particularly arid region of Rajasthan (India). The book contained various chapters with recent reference to justify the research aspects. The data are presented in tabular form as well as graphical depictions.
