This book is the result of a research project sponsored by San Buenaventura University, Bogotá (Colombia). It has been published for language professionals who want to apply the Task-based Language Teaching approach (TBLT) to online English learning environments. As TBLT has been traditionally used in face-to-face classes, this project invites tutors to take risks and incorporate this approach into learning objects. In this regard, the reader is expected not only to check the results of the implementation, but also to design a customized tool for strengthening students’ language learning process. Publishing houses are not the only trustworthy resource that produce accurate instructional materials; teachers may also exploit their potential as material designers since they know students’ academic and cultural background. They only need imagination, open source software and this book to endeavor to challenge the status quo.
