Synopsis

This book is the result of research aimed at promoting reflection on the socio-economic and socio-racial inequalities present in Brazil. It also aimed to provide a hermeneutic reading of these inequalities, in the context of a democratic state of law, through an analysis of Brazilian history and legal systems. It also sought to reflect on a significant socio-legal fact: racism. Thus, Brazil is currently facing a very uncomfortable situation, even with obvious economic growth, it still has a scenario of major regional differences from a socio-economic and socio-ethnic point of view, and the process of social integration of black men and women has not been uniform in the Brazilian case. With this in mind, the study delved deeper into the various legal forms in Brazil and identified their relationship with racism and socio-economic inequalities by analyzing economic and demographic aspects and their respective legal diplomas from 1830 to 2012.
