This book, based on our past material research experience, tries to have a tentative introduction to the present mainstream and CALPHAD calculation based thermodynamics methods and software tools (Chapter 2 and Chapter 3). With ThermoCalc-Dictra software system as an example, it has a detailed introduction to how use such methods and tools to calculate some basic thermodynamic properties of steel material (Chapter 4). Finally, it introduces some cases of solving some practical applications with thermodynamics - dynamics simulation in the study and production of steel materials (Chapter 5). The book can not cover and does not pursue for covering all areas of steel materials research. It aims to provide the colleagues of the materials research some useful inspirations.
