本书以汶川地震作为研究目标，系统介绍了作者针对震源特征研究的成果，全面总结了目前震源破裂过程研究的现状，介绍了震源破裂过程和震源高频辐射反演的原理；综合汶川地震多维度研究结果，构建符合发震实际情形的三维曲面断层模型，研究了远场长周期地震记录、GPS观测资料和近场强震记录对汶川地震破裂过程的解释能力；联合远场、近场、GPS和同震位移资料给出了汶川地震时空破裂过程；构建了一种反演汶川地震高频辐射的研究方法，给出了汶川地震线源模型高频辐射分布，由得到的震源高频激发模型正演得到台站加速度包络，进一步合成了近场高频地震动。 本书可供从事地震工程研究的教师和研究生参考使用。
