Jinggang Kung Fu belongs to the school of footwork martial arts, focusing on the agility of hands, eyes, body and feet, with particular emphasis on the function of legs and feet. It is one of the main representatives of the footwork martial arts in North China. There are many series of skills in footwork martial arts. For example, in the region of Shenxian County, Hebei Province, there are a lot of series of skills such as Jinggang movements, Jinggang boxing, Chinese boxing, eight hand-turning skills, four-row boxing, Luomen eight steps, Erlang boxing, Nezha boxing, Jiuzhizi, etc., which belong to the school. These series of boxing skills contain Yuhuan step, chain step, mandarin duck feet, etc. which have practice methods in Jinggang kung fu. Jinggang kung fu can be divided into eight ranks according to progressive method of initial study. Practice in each rank is known as ""kicking rank"". Once mastered, drills can be done according to respective rank or successional ranks. It depends on the practicers own level of kung fu and strength. Overwork may harm the body.
