Synopsis
《晚清四大谴责小说 孽海花（插图本）》是与《官场现形记》、《二十年目睹之怪现状》、《老残游记》几乎同时出现的晚清四大谴责小说之一。鲁迅曾称赞《孽海花》“结构工巧，文采斐然”，具有很高的艺术水平。
《晚清四大谴责小说 孽海花（插图本）》原由金松岑创意，并写出了六回，第一、二两回发表在1903年10月出版的留学生杂志《江苏》上；同年夏秋之交，金氏将原稿移交曾朴续作。《孽海花》以状元郎金雯青（影射洪钧）与名妓傅彩云（影射赵彩云）的婚姻生活故事为情节主线，将三十年间重要历史事件的侧影及其相关的趣闻轶事，加以剪裁提炼，熔铸成篇，反映了晚清同治中期至光绪后期这一特定历史阶段政治和文化的变迁。
