Bing Xin (1900-1999), born in Fuzhou, was a well-known Chinese writer of children's literature and translator in the 20th century. Her representative works include Letters to Young Readers, A Myriad of Stars, and Spring Waters. As a productive translator, Bing Xin translated quite a few works into Chinese. She had a very distinctive writing style: graceful, restrained, concise, smooth, and highly expressive. Dubbed ""Bing Xin style"" by her contemporaries, it has had considerable influences on other writers.
