Synopsis
1949年5月，中国人民解放军某部八连在参加了解放上海的战斗后，随即接受了警卫上海南京路的光荣任务。大上海虽然回到人民手中，但是美蒋留下来的残余势力仍在暗中活动，妄图用资产阶级的“香风”毒气来瓦解我解放军战士的斗志，并在春节联欢会上制造爆炸事件。敌人的诡计被我八连指战员及时识破，于是因势利导，在对战士们进行教育的同时，最终取得了对敌斗争的胜利，成为南京路五彩斑斓的霓虹灯下保持着我军光荣传统的“哨兵”。
