Synopsis
本书为电影的实证分析提供了新的依据。作者在既有电影理论的基础上，试图将当前的多模态理论——组织的组合及聚合关系轴的阐释、语篇语义学以及超前的“布局结构”——密切结合起来从而为电影分析提供一套新方法。通过这套方法，我们可以清楚地了解电影片段的细节是如何驱动电影语篇结构机制的形成的。同时，读者可以对包含新的细节层次的电影组织进行研究，也可以更为深入地探究这个学科的基本问题：电影到底是如何稳妥地建构并传达意义的？此外，本书提供的多模态分析框架在逐镜头的电影分析和较大单位“场”的分析之间架起了桥梁，这既是对社会符号学模型的新应用，也是对电影理论的新发展。总之，本书构建的概念、框架以及方法在当代电影理论中是前沿性的，回时本书也证明了符号学的概念依然很重要。
