Synopsis
《知圣篇》是廖平先生的代表作之一。廖平提出，搞通六经的起点在于“知圣”，而圣人之事是哲学，因此经学就是哲学。廖平以此抨击“六经皆史”说以史学取代或冒充哲学，使圣人作经的主旨蔽而不明。《知圣篇》即重在阐明六经并非前代散佚旧文，而全部为孔子作为素王为万世立法的制作。全书包含正篇和续篇。正篇主要反映“尊今”思想，提出孔子是受命改制，六经皆孔子为改制而作，康有为曾据此书着成《孔子改制考》；近世学林流行的“托古改制”说，盖即肇始于此篇。续篇又加入“小统大统”“天人之学”等学说，在时空上进一步推衍，可以考见廖平经学“二变”以后的学术发展历程。
