Synopsis
《二刻醒世恒言十二笑（插图）》收录两部古典文学作品。《二刻醒世恒言》内容多取材于宋元明以来的笔记小说，部分选自明人的拟话本集，内容受到《剪灯新话》《西湖二集》《石点头》等作品的影响。作者为迎合读者趣味，掺入了许多阴司鬼神的情节，思想倾向上主要是宣扬忠孝节义。《二刻醒世恒言》原刻于清雍正间，封面伪托“墨憨斋遗稿”，署“芾斋主人评”；下集一回题“心远主人编次”。《二刻醒世恒言》以“二刻”为名，但和冯氏《三言》则无法相提并论。《十二笑》是一部清代拟话本集。原书十二卷，现残存六卷，其余六卷仅存目录。书中表现出浓重的劝惩意味，含讽隐刺，虽名为“笑”，实则多是“苦笑”，往往让读者笑不出来。如一回写一进士花枢，终日盼子不得，竟买来一个泥娃娃，置穿戴，雇乳母，全衙上下呼其“小相公”；谁知被乳母酒醉打碎，花枢买棺椁，请僧官，大作水陆道场；最后，花枢为有子嗣，竟夜夜纵欲而死。其余有的写朋友间尔虞我诈，有的写溺子逆情，有的写为赌丧命等。
