Synopsis
1947年6月30日，遵照党中央和毛泽东主席关于把战争引向国民党统治区的指示，刘伯承、邓小平率领晋冀鲁豫野战军主力南渡黄河，向大别山进军，揭开了全国性大进攻的序幕。指挥刘邓大军挺进并转战大别山，是毛泽东军事生涯中的得意之笔。同时，刘邓大军在大别山斗争中也经受了严峻考验，付出了重大代价。仅以人员数量来说，跃进大别山前全军共12.4万余人，转出大别山时，只剩下5.86万人，损失达一半之多。因此，刘邓大军千里跃进大别山，更是一首悲壮的史诗。刘邓大军在大别山是无后方作战，他们当时所遭受的艰难困苦，决不是一般人所能想象的。在此，我们采访了三百多位参加过千里跃进大别山的原刘邓大军指战员，他们有当时的纵队领导人，如六纵政委杜义德，也有旅、团级指挥员，如六纵十七旅旅长李德生、十八旅旅长肖永银、政委刘昌、十六旅四十六团团长唐明春等，但更多的是当年的基层指战员。在采访时，老人们都说：红军、八路军是苦出来的，可到了大别山，那日子比长征、抗美援朝还要苦……进入大别山后，刘邓大军所面临的，不仅是残酷的现实和严峻的敌情，更面临着十几万人马的粮食供应问题。冬天即将来临，1947年的那个冬天，似乎比以往任何一年都寒冷……
