Synopsis
本诗集系在漓江社老版叶芝诗选《丽达与天鹅》的基础上进行修订，增补了二十多篇，更加完整、充分地展现了叶芝各时期创作情况。为使读者更好地了解作者创作风格的变化，我们将所收入的诗歌大致划分成五个阶段，即后期浪漫主义阶段、走出后期浪漫主义阶段、接近现代主义阶段、成熟的高峰阶段和晚年阶段。当然，这些划分不是绝对的，前一个阶段的特点偶尔也会在后一个阶段重新、重叠出现，这也正说明了叶芝从来都不是简单的扬弃，而是螺旋上升的。 本书是叶芝诗艺成熟时期的代表作，被誉为20世纪最有名和最有影响力的文学作品之一。诗名出自《圣经》，与叶芝自己的神秘象征主义体系也有关，即历史每一循环两千年，“伪耶稣”就会来临，给人类带来巨大的灾难。选它做书名，也取其字面意思，喻指裘小龙的叶芝诗选译本，第二次在漓江社出版。
