唐代玄奘取经归来，便开始翻译经文。唐太宗亲为作序，太子李治为其作记。后来，长安弘福寺僧人怀仁从唐内府所藏王羲之行书遗墨中集字，将太宗序、太子记以及太宗答、太子笺答、玄奘所译心经等五种集出。本书为元代著名画家、楷书四大家之一赵孟頫的临摹手记，赵孟頫博学多才，能诗善文，懂经济，工书法，精绘艺，擅金石，通律吕，解鉴赏。他也善篆、隶、真、行、草书，尤以楷、行书著称于世。作者将其整理出版为本书，供广大书法爱好者临摹，学习。
