凌尚武于1928年10月出生在马尾魁岐村，1945年10月参加革命，建立魁岐交通联络站，后组建魁岐工委，历任闽浙赣区委属下中共林连罗沿海地区工委书记、中共连江县委书记兼游击支队长等职务，开辟了连江沿海游击根据地，为解放福州作出重要贡献。新中国成立后，凌尚武曾担任连江县委副书记、寿宁县革委会副主任等职务。 《凌尚武传》是首部全面反映马尾革命英雄凌尚武生平事迹的文学传记。全书以事实为依据，精心刻画人物的思想、感情、心理变化。
