“闪光少年”系列是一套以体育运动为主题的儿童绘本。书系选取排球、体操、跳水、击剑、足球等具有代表性的体育项目，以孩子们日常运动、训练、竞技比赛中的真实经历为蓝本，通过真挚温暖的文本、细腻生动的画面，栩栩如生地描绘出当代少年儿童顽强拼搏、奋发向上的精神风貌。 该书系由王志庚主编，邀请青年儿童文学作家赵菱、张晓玲、邹凡凡、王苗、杨娟，以及新锐插画家马宇晴、月白、徐敏君、泛泛、何玎等共同打造。书系的五个故事，以“运动”为媒，从个人成长、团队精神、体育传承、文化交流、师生情谊等多个维度书写时代故事，展现体育运动的魅力，传递积极向上的价值观，促进少年儿童认识运动、了解运动，爱上运动，并从中体悟体育精神，汲取追逐梦想的勇气与力量，让阅读与运动助力童年成长。 女孩和同学们一起参加了学校的排球队。由于身高的原因，女孩一度想要放弃。后来，她在教练的鼓励下，成了排球队的“自由人”。通过不断练习和协作，最终，在一场决胜局中，她成功地拦下关键球并帮助球队取得胜利。 故事描写生动，绘画细腻，刻画了排球队孩子们的不同面貌，充分展现出集体运动的魅力：每个人都可以在自己的位置上发光发热，成为团队中不可缺少的一员。
