Synopsis

This book is a reflector of ugliness of the feudal society. It describes all sorts of shameless feudal scholars, officials, landlords and scoundrels so as to disclose the corruption of the dying feudal systems. It strongly attacks the evil imperial examination system, political system, ethics and social morality, thus rejecting the entire feudal system. It is a progressive masterpiece with democratic thoughts.
