The interaction of dimensions in a chain of machining processes is also included. The standards relevant to accuracy are explained. Processes to obtain precision parts are described. The treatment is not just descriptive. Analytical expressions and numerical examples are included. The scope of the book is novel and the subject matter will be highly useful not only to an academic in the area of manufacturing but also to an engineer on the shop floor. About The Author: : Prof. R.L. Murty obtained B.Tech (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech in Industrial Engineering in 1959 and 1961 respectively from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He worked for two years in industry in the area of Methods Engineering. He obtained his Ph.D in the area of Manufacturing Engineering from USSR in 1966, having worked under the guidance of an eminent scientist and educationist, Prof. G.N. Mescherikov. He has been a teacher in the Regional Engineering College, Warangal, since 1966, where he has been working as professor from 1972.
