Synopsis

About the author: k.a. Krishnamurthy received his b.e. (1967) in electrical engineering from nie, mysore, m.tech. (1972) in industrial electronics from krec, surathkal and ph.d. (1978) from the indian institute of technology, bombay. He joined the department of electrical engineering, malnad college of engineering, hassan in 1967 and rose to the rank of professor & head of e & c engineering in 1979. He became the vice-principal in 1994 and the principal during 1997-2004, since then he is the vice-chancellor of the newly formed deemed university, sri siddhartha university, tumkur, karnataka. He was with the university of manitoba, canada during 1981-83 and 1983-84 as a visiting fellow. During 1988-89, he was with the asea brown boveri, switzerland as a visiting professor. He is the recipient of the up state national award (1996-97), for his innovative research activities and book writing. He is also the recipient of the j c bose memorial gold medal of iete (1994-96).
