About the Author

Mahua Chakrabarti is an Associate Professor in the Department of Museology, University
of Calcutta. Awarded the gold medal for ranking first in order of merit in M.A. in Museology,
University of Calcutta, she has been engaged in researches in the field of Museology as well
as Indian art history for the last two decades. Author and editor of a number of books on
Museology published from India and abroad, she has also guided researches on various
aspects of Museology, archaeology and Indian art history, besides contributing research
papers to various national and international seminars and conferences in India and abroad.

She is also member of International Council of Museums (ICOM), life member of the
Asiatic Society, Kolkata, Indian Art History Congress, Museums Association of India, and
Itihas Sammilani, Dhaka, Bangladeshe
