He did his MSc (Engineering) in Power System in 1966 from the same college ranking second in the university, and did his doctorate in Control Systems in 1982 from Madras University. He has a total of 41 years’ experience teaching both to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has guided around 450 projects both in Computer Science and Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has received many awards for his teaching and research. Dr Sivanandam has published nine books, and around 600 technical papers in national and international journals and conferences. He has delivered around 70 special lectures, chaired three international and five national conferences and is a member of various professional bodies.S N Deepa is a PhD research scholar in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. She has earlier worked there as lecturer. Mrs Deepa did her ME (Control Systems) from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore in 2004. She has a year’s industrial experience and about four years’ teaching experience. She has published two books and papers in national and international journals. She won a National Award instituted by Indian Society of Technical Education and L&T Limited in 2004.
