The book has nine chapters dealing with Mahatma Gandhi's role in controlling riots particularly in Kolkata and Delhi, his assassination and mindset behind, and Gandhi's dream India. The first chapter, India Becomes Independent, discusses how Gandhi controlled the riots in Kolkata that erupted due to the partition of India. The second chapter, DelhiThe City of Dead, and the next chapter, The Greatest Fast, discuss Gandhi's way of controlling riots in Delhi that erupted due to the partition. Gandhi desired to live for 125 years to see the whole world free. But on 2nd October 1947 he lost this desire which has been discussed in the fourth chapter entitled Lost Desire to Live 125 Years. The fifth chapter, Second Crucifixion, discusses the assassination of Gandhi and consequences thereafter. The next chapter, World Mourned for Mahatma Gandhi, is about the grief and condolence expressed by the eminent as well as common people through out the world.
