About the Author
Jawaid A. Khan, PhD, is a plant virologist at the National Botanical Research Institute in Lucknow, India, and co-editior of Plant Viruses as Molecular Pathogens (Haworth). His research interests include characterization of viruses/phytoplasmas infecting ornamental, horticultural, and other economically important crops, and the development of virus detection systems. Jeanne Dijkstra, PhD, was a plant virologist from 1957 to 1995 at the Department of Virology, Wageningen Agricultural University in the netherlands, where she investigated early events in the infection process, the interference between viruses in a plant, and the identification and taxonomy of plant viruses. During that time, she also taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in virology, plant pathology, crop protection, plant breeding, and horticulture and crop science. Dr. Dijkstra is co-editor of Plant Viruses As Molecular Pathogens (Harworth).
