About the Author

Dr. N. Rajavel is the Head of the Department of Commerce in Jawaharlal Nehry Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobalr Islands. Immediately after his M.Com, he was appointed as Asst. Professor of Commerce in Shri Pushpam College, Poondi, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu in 1982. Within a year of his first posting he was selected by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration for its college and is presently working as the Head of the Department of Commerce.In 1990 he was awarded Ph.d. by the Kumaun University, Nainital; the research topic beaing' Problems and 'Prospects of Trade, Commerce and Industry in Andaman and Nicobar Islands'.
