Synopsis
This novel collection of twenty experiments, covering all areas of practical chemistry, has been introduced for the basic chemistry course of the B.Tech program of the IITs in particular and for the benefit of all chemistry undergraduate students in general. The experiments have been tested, are modern, interesting and can be carried out with the existing facilities in any chemistry undergraduate laboratory. The emphasis is on experiments which involve chemicals and products encountered in the day-to-day life of an average Indian student. Each experiment also contains a brief theoretical background which is necessary to understand and enjoy the chemistry behind the experiment.
