About the Author:
Dr. J.P. Srivastava has obtained his B.Sc. (Ag.) and M.Sc. (Ag.) degrees from Govt. Agriculture college, Kanpur and PhD degree from Kanpur University. He is now heading the department of Vegetable Science of C.S> Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. He is a renowned vegetable breeder and has developed more than 50 varieties/hybrids of various vegetable crops like Azad P-1 etc. He is credited by 65 research papers, 110 abstracts of symposia/seminars and more than 100 popular articles on vegetable production technology. He has been principle investigator of several research projects founded by national and international organisations. Dr. Shankar Lal is a renowned breeder, teacher and research manager. He retired as Director of Indian Institute of Pulses research, Kanpur. He was Professor of Plant Breeding (Pulses) at Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar. and Research Manager at N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Faizabad. Assistant Director General (Food and Fodder Crops), ICAR and Director Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur. He ha Published more than 75 research papers in Journals of National and Internaitonal Repute. More than 200 popular articles and about 10 bulletins and books. He has more than 25 years of teaching experience in the field of genetics, plant breeding and seed production. Dr. Gaurav Mishra is a young scientist in the field of vegetable science. He has obtained B.Sc. (Ag.) and M.Sc. (Ag.) degrees from CSJM University and CSAUAT, kanpur respectively. He has been selected to be awarded as "Chancellor Gold Medal" from CSAUAT, Kanpur. Recently he has obtained his PhD degree in vegetable science. he has published 13 research papers, 25 abstracts and more than 25 popular articles. Currently he is serving in State Bank of India as Technical Officer (farm sector) for promoting agriculture business through monitoring the projects to be financed by the bank.
