"Essence of Enquiry" (Vichara Sangraham) contains the earliest recording of the original teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi, accompanied by a detailed commentary by Nome. This book chronicles the profound dialogues from 1900 to 1902 between Sri Ramana Maharshi and an ardent seeker of truth, Gambhiram Seshiar. The focus of this work consists of Self-Knowledge, Self-Inquiry, and ajata teachings. There are also devotional elements throughout the text.

It is evident that Master Nome has this perception. The humility with which he has approached this holy work is found in his beginning each commentary with the all powerful twelve word mantra on Ramana "Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanaya". He closes each commentary with "Ramanarpanamastu - may this be an offering to Ramana". And what worthy offering it is. With his own experience of the natural state, Nome is able to explain the true import of Ramana's word with utmost clarity and depth."

About the Author:
Nome, a sage who practiced self-inquiry for steady abidance in Self-Realization, is a spiritual teacher at Society of Abidance in Truth, known by the acronym SAT, which established and maintains a temple for Nondual Self-Knowledge in California. Nome teaches Advaita Vedanta, especially as is contained in the teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. These teachings are those found in traditional Advaita Vedanta as expounded by Adi Sankaracharya, Ribhu, and the Upanishads. Nome is a teacher of this spiritual knowledge, an author of the same, and a translator of Vedanta texts.
