Korzeniewski MD, PhD (born in 1967) is a professor at the Military Institute of Medicine and Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Tropical Medicine. He has spent many years dealing with issues concerning the health hazards and prevention of diseases in areas characterized by different climatic and sanitary conditions, the epidemiology of diseases and injuries occurring among participants of military operations, as well as the problems of medical support in contemporary theaters of operations. Both his doctoral and postdoctoral dissertations were devoted to such issues. The Author is a specialist in tropical medicine, dermatology, venereology and epidemiology. He has participated in military operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Chad and Lebanon, where he spent more than a total of four years. He has also authored books on Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, has written a large number of compendiums and information booklets for the participants of peacekeeping and stabilization missions conducted overseas, and has published more than 100 articles in medical journals in Poland and abroad.
