About the Author
Paulo Coelho (Brasil, 1947. Sus resenas biograficas comienzan, casi siempre, diciendo que es uno de los autores mas leidos de mundo. Este es verdad, pero mucho mas importante aun destacar que se trata de uno de los autores que mayor influencia ejercen hoy sobre sus lectores. Antes de publicar El peregrino en 1987, fue dramaturgo, director teatral, compositor y periodista. Su segunda obra, El Alquimista (1988), lo consagro mundialmente. Con mas de 30 millones de ejemplares vendidos, ha sido traducido a 67 idiomas en mas de 150 paises, y se ha convertido en un clasico. Entre muchas otras actividades y distinciones, Paulo Coelho fue reconocido por el Foro Economico Mundial con en Cristal Award, y es Mensajero de Paz de la ONU, embajador de la Union Europea para el Dialogo Intercultural, Miembro de la Academia Brasilena de Letras y Caballero de la Orden Nacional de la Legion de Honor y de las Artes y las Letras de Francia.
