Antoni Arissa (Sant Andreu 1900 Barcelona 1980) was probably the photographer who applied the principles of the New Vision in the most interesting way in Spain. Graphic designers, typographers and printers -together with advertising photographers- were at that time the first to use the resources promoted by the avant-garde. The gradual implementation of the principles of typophoto, promoted by Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, led to the birth of a new visual language in which photography became the substitute for drawing, renewing the design of posters, books, magazines, and newspapers. Arissa, a printer by trade, fully embraces this trend. At the end of the Civil War, many of the platforms for the dissemination of modernity disappeared. Arissa's work, like that of many other creators of his generation, was significantly reduced until, little by little, he fell into oblivion. At the beginning of the 1990s, a timid process of recovery of the figure of Arissa began, definitively positioning herself as a reference photographer with this exhibition.
