Condition: Nuevo. 308 pp. Fundado en septiembre de 1935 en España, el POUM (Partido Obrero de Unificación Marxista) desempeñó un papel importante durante la guerra civil (1936-1939), principalmente en Cataluña, región donde estaba mayoritariamente implantado. Desaparece de la escena política de manera prematura en junio de 1937 cuando fue declarado ilegal, siendo víctima de una doble persecución: franquista y comunista. La implantación de un partido obrero en la España de la Segunda República invita a estudiar la situación de las mujeres en el POUM. La proclamación de esta República el 14 de abril de 1931 representó un período de apertura y de emancipación para las mujeres, en particular con el acceso al derecho de voto; unas mujeres que hasta entonces eran consideradas inferiores y «víctimas» de un modelo familiar patriarcal muy anclado en la sociedad y apoyado por el Estado y la Iglesia. Así, parece interesante estudiar las relaciones de sexo entre militantes del POUM con el fin de ver si existía una adecuación entre el discurso del partido (igualdad entre sexos) y la realidad cotidiana. El análisis está basado en diferentes temas. La acción militante de las mujeres se desarrolla en el frente pero también, y sobre todo, en la retaguardia donde las encontramos en política, en los medios de comunicación, en organismos de ayuda a la población civil o también en la enseñanza y la ayuda a los niños.
