Fernando Macías nace en Cádiz en 1983. Desde pequeño sus padres le inculcan el amor por la lectura y el Carnaval de Cádiz. Estudia Magisterio y ejerce como docente en el colegio Arenas Internacional de Lanzarote. Es en esta isla canaria donde comienza con el manuscrito de El asesino de comparsistas, su primera novela negra, que termina viendo la luz en diciembre de 2014 y que se convierte en un gran éxito de ventas, llegando a superar los diez mil ejemplares. En 2015 publica El asesino de comparsistas 2: Tras la máscara, la secuela de su primer éxito y que vuelve a convertirse en un bestseller.En febrero de 2016 comienza a trabajar en el sector editorial como director de contenidos de Licreatura.com y como asesor literario para Lantia Publishing. Poco después se incorpora como asesor editorial a Caligrama, el sello de autoedición del grupo Penguin Random House.En noviembre de 2016 Samarcanda publica Yo me enamoré de ti por culpa de los Carnavales, en la que da un giro al género de la comedia romántica. A finales de ese año también lanza su propia línea de agendas tematizadas bajo la marca Mr. Momo.En 2017 publica junto a otros autores dos libros de microcuentos titulados Microcádiz y Microcuéntame, así como también Samarcanda reedita sus dos primeras novelas negras y a finales del año 2017 publica la última novela de la saga: La última cuarteta.
