About the Author:

Tomás Eloy Martínez (Tucumán, Argentina, 1934) is the author of several screen plays and essays. He has also written numerous novels such as Santa Evita (1995) and La novela de Perón (1985). He is the director of the Latin American Studies Department at Rutgers University in New Jersey and contributes regularly to The New York Times and El País.
