Condition: Aceptable. : Entre el grupo de obras compuestas hacia 1610 por Félix LOPE DE VEGA Carpio (1562-1635) figuran PERIBÁÑEZ y FUENTE OVEJUNA, posiblemente sus dos comedias más célebres y más frecuentemente llevadas a escena. Inspirada la primera en un suceso narrado en la crónica de Rades y sugerida la segunda por una cancioncilla popular, ambas obedecen a un mismo planteamiento ideológico: la rebelión contra el abuso del poder, colectivo en un caso y personal en el otro, y la exaltación final de la Corona como autoridad justiciera. Como observa Alberto Blecua pro-loguista, preparador y anotador de esta edición completamente actualizada, los protagonistas de las dos obras, villanos dignos que se comportan como hombres de honor y que disfrutan de una desahogada posición económica, reflejan un tipo social cada vez más representativo e influyente en la España de la época.
