About the Author
Rudyard Kipling (Bombai 1865 - Londres 1936). Escritor inglés y Premio Nobel de literatura (1907). Se educó en Gran Bretaña y en 1882 volvió a la India, su país natal, donde adquirió una rápida popularidad como periodista y autor de cuentos. De nuevo en Inglaterra (1889), fue el gran escritor del imperialismo británico, en novelas como La luz que se apaga (1891) y poemas, aunque sus obras más célebres son las que recrean ambientes de la India, como El libro de la selva (1894) y, sobre todo, Kim (1901).
