Synopsis
El laberinto de las aceitunas situa nuevamente en el centro de una espiral de intriga al detective manicomial y parodico que protagonizara El misterio de la cripta embrujada. Arrastrado por el azar mas disparatado, en esta ocasion ha de enfrentarse a una desconocida red de maleantes que a toda costa trata de recuperar un maletin repleto de dinero y perdido en curiosas circunstancias.No es menos deslumbrante aqui que en sus obras anteriores la capacidad de Eduardo Mendoza para la escritura que contiene en si su propia caricatura, a la vez que la de un genero, el policiaco, y la de una sociedad multiforme, ridicula y degradante que solo puede ser reconocida a traves de los mas variados registros expresivos. Pero su imaginacion literaria va esta vez todavia mas lejos: en un triple salto mortal llega, por la distorsion de la peripecia policial, no ya al reino del humor y el absurdo, sino al de la fabulacion que roza, tras lo esperpentico, el area del prodigio surreal.
