Synopsis
El narrador y protagonista de este relato vive solo en una casa situada en un remoto pueblo deshabitado, dispuesto, segun nos confiesa desde la primera frase, a desaparecer. Durante su espera, solo una lucecita que se enciende cada noche, en algun lugar del lado opuesto del valle, perturba su tranquilidad. Para resolver ese misterio tendra que romper su aislamiento y encontrarse con un nino que parece salido de otra epoca, incluso de otro planeta. / The protagonist of this story lives alone in a house located in an uninhabited village that is on the verge of disappearing. Para resolver ese misterio tendrá que romper su aislamiento y recorrer una vegetación espesa y hostil, poblada por animales salvajes. Al llegar al origen de la luz, se encuentra con un niño que parece salido de otra época, incluso de otro planeta. Los encuentros entre el adulto y el niño supondrán la culminación de una búsqueda que habrá llevado al protagonista a plantearse (y a plantearnos también, de la mano de la literatura) el sentido de la existencia, el profundo misterio del universo. Estamos ante una novela breve pero de gran intensidad, que nace de la zona más oscura de nuestro dolor de seres vivos, de esa «caja negra» que cada uno de nosotros lleva en su interior.
